An italian craftsman bossi worked in dublin from 1785 to 1798 and used coloured marble inlay and also a coloured paste inlay known as scagliola on a white marble ground. This exceptional chimneypiece is one of three bossi s from a private collection each bought during the 1980 s from three different georgian buildings. Sienna marble interior slips 19th century.
